Sandune Archery Club
History

Sandune Archery Club is proud to have the oldest tournament archery club in South Carolina. We were founded in 1962 by a group of archers that wanted to have a range to practice archery and hold local shoots. Horry County has been our home for 44 of the 45 years at various locations through out our county. Presently located in the Socastee Recreational Park off of Butler Rd. in Socastee, near Myrtle Beach, we are confident that this will be our home for many years.

Our club host the popular 3-D target shoots and paper target shoots as well. Our practice range has practice butts that range from 10 yards to 60 yards at 5-yard increments in a semi-wooded area. The 3-D course has 45 lanes in a wooded setting that has been left with its natural growth.

We have hosted several NFAA Southeastern Sectional 3-D Championship Tournaments along with many South Carolina State Championship Tournaments. Our club was also involved with bring to Myrtle Beach a National ASA Tournament.

We provide classes and instruction to many groups and organizations in and around the county. The Boy Scouts, local schools, churches, recreational departments, home school groups, NWTF, birthday parties, libraries and individuals.

Our biggest assets are our members. We have National, Sectional and State Champions past and present. We also have Certified NFAA and NAA instructors and some of our coaches were also involved in the NFAA Shooters School 6 volume video library hosted by Master Instructors Bernie and Jan Pellerite.
